Talk: Ten steps to creating accessible PDFs with InDesign
The process of creating an accessible PDF file may seem intimidating at the beginning. What needs to be done to create an accessible PDF file come down to creating clean files in InDesign and paying attention to details by taking advantage of InDesign accessibility features. This webinar will review 10 steps that designers should incorporate in their workflow when creating publications in InDesign.
1. Review the document.
2. Check Colour Contrast
3. Add Metadata
4. Use Real Bulleted and Numbered List
5. Use Heading for Hierarchy
6. Apply Alt Text to Images and Graphics
7. Set the Reading Order
8. Anchor Graphics as Needed
9. Use the Right PDF Export Setting
10. Clean Up in Acrobat

 Denis has more than 25 years of experience and is comfortable managing projects in both English and French. He has worked in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto before starting his own business in 1989 that would become Costa Leclerc Design. His experience in marketing and his artistic approach guide CLD’s strategy as well as the development of interactive initiatives, visual identities and integrated brand campaigns in either official language.
