RGD website launches with help from Oxygen Design Agency and Smallbox
01/04/13

RGD is excited to share more resources, more content, and more opportunities for RGD Members and Provisionals to share their work with a new website designed by Oxygen Design Agency and built by Smallbox.

With a fresh design from Oxygen and back-end development from Smallbox, the new website highlights RGD’s programs, news and events from the design community, job postings, professional development resources and member benefits.

“We see this new site as a great opportunity to bring visitors a more holistic view of the RGD and offer new and improved functions and features that benefit RGD members and the design community at large,” says Marawan El-Asfahani RGD, Managing Principal at Oxygen and RGD Director.

The new site also provides a more visual platform for showcasing the work of RGD’s talented members. Members now have the opportunity to upload as many as ten work samples (five for Provisionals) to their profiles, which will appear in the new Designer Directory. Updated bi-weekly, the ‘Featured RGD’'s profile will be highlighted on the homepage and in the RGD newsletter. For more information on how to update your profile, click here.

Case Studies are another newsletter feature which will also appear in the Community section of the website. Members are invited to submit case studies that highlight details of the design process for specific projects, including challenges, strategies and success stories.

With the help of Oxygen and Smallbox, RGD will be able to organize our growing archive of videos, articles, news bites and more, creating a online resource where information is accessible, relevant and frequently updated.

“The Smallbox process has evolved over the years to complement the latest technologies, but the fundamentals remain the same as they were in 1999: define your audience and deliver a site that speaks to them,” says Michael Williams, Principal at Smallbox. “The result is a website that aligns with best practices and reflects the design integrity of the brand and business it represents.”

Thanks to Smallbox and Oxygen, RGD's online presence now reflects all that the organization has to offer and will continue to provide up-to-date news and content relevant to the design community.

"I applaud all of the contributors who were instrumental in bringing this new website to life," says Bob Hambly RGD, Chair of the RGD Communications Committee. "For members, it is where we stay informed about the Association's news, events and many initiatives. For those new to graphic design, it will educate and enlighten you about RGD and the vibrant profession it represents. We encourage you to visit the website often – to get inspired, to contribute, to stay connected."
