The 17th annual Grafika Awards event took place earlier this month, honouring the best of graphic design in Quebec. An independent jury selected by the Board of Directors for SDGQ highlighted 100 projects to represent the best of the year. Of this list, 10 were also honoured with the Grand Prix award.
"Quebec has long enjoyed a rich creative base and it's wonderful to see the work of the community celebrated in this way," says RGD President Lionel Gadoury.
The award ceremony began with the prestigious Prix Lorne C. Perry award, created by SDGQ and InfoPresse to honour remarkable and sustained collaboration with a client. Orangetango was awarded this year's prize for a 15-year partnership with Théâtre du Nouveau Monde. (Orangetango was selected by RGD as Design Partner for last year's DesignThinkers Conference in Toronto, for which they provided all branding including printed materials, environmental graphics, a conference video and more. Photos of Orangetango's work on DesignThinkers can be seen on RGD's Flickr page.)
