Mohawk Launches New Options + Navajo Swatchbook
20/03/15
Mohawk, North America’s largest privately-owned manufacturer of fine papers, envelopes and specialty substrates for commercial and digital printing, announces a redesigned swatchbook for its Options + Navajo paper grade.

The Options + Navajo swatchbook is third in a series of nine, newly redesigned Mohawk swatchbooks that have been developed to make the paper specification process clearer, easier and more inspirational for designers, printers, stationers and paper enthusiasts.

“The new Mohawk swatchbook series was designed for beauty and utility, to help designers discover the impact of paper, color and texture,” said Chris Harrold, Vice President Business Development and Creative Director, Mohawk.

The Mohawk Options + Navajo line has not changed, but the new swatchbook is designed to give paper specifiers a fresh look at the grade.  The swatchbook showcases six premium white shades and three distinct finishes, including three 100% PCW choices. The entire Mohawk Options + Navajo line is FSC certified and manufactured with windpower.

Options + Navajo feature Mohawk’s exclusive Inxwell surface technology. Inxwell combines the tactile feel of uncoated paper with the advantages of superior ink holdout, lower dot gain and significantly increased opacity. As a result, Options + Navajo prints better than any other uncoated paper in the world. Ink sits on top of Inxwell papers resulting in better color, greater detail, and outstanding photographic reproduction in all popular printing processes.

“Inxwell combines outstanding print fidelity with the lush tactility of premium uncoated paper that Mohawk is known for,” said Bart Robinson, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Mohawk.

This new swatchbook begins with a Quick Spec section which provides a quick, organized overview of colors, finishes and weights available within the paper grade. Following is a Browse section, which allows users to dive deeper into the specification process to identify finish, shade and weight. Each waterfall within Browse contains information about available colors and weights, including one sample of every shade available within each finish.  A Details section contains in-depth paper information and specific printing resources.

The Options + Navajo swatchbook was designed by Hybrid Design of San Francisco, CA, and produced by McCarty Printing, Erie, PA.

To order a copy of the swatchbook, paper specifiers can contact their local paper merchants or place an order from Mohawkconnects.com.

Companion Piece: Mohawk Maker Quarterly, Issue No. 06
The soon-to-be-released sixth issue of the award-winning Mohawk Maker Quarterly is printed on a selection of Options + Navajo papers, and designed to be a companion piece to the new Options + Navajo swatchbook. Mohawk Quarterly issue number six will be released in April 2015.
