Description

State propaganda of hate and intolerance against Ukraine and Western countries is a big problem in Russia, with negative media messages persuading Russians that the world is out to humiliate the country. This set of images illustrates the deceitful nature of this propa - ganda, using hundreds of words of hatred cut out from newspaper articles about Ukraine, the USA and Europe. Translations: ВРАГ made of press clippings means ENEMY and all the names on the packs of sauces are just slightly different meanings of HATE. The slogans are (top down): “Aren’t you fed up?” “Propaganda is dangerous to your health.” “Turn off your TV, Turn on your brain.”

Judge's Comment

Being aware of what is going on in the world is very important. In this project Marina Bulan not only was aware but decided to take the initiative to create awareness about a problem that is miles aways. It’s also important to say that she took the responsibility upon her - self to start the change. –Flavio Carvalho RGD
