RGD Launches Design at Work Poster Initiative in Sudbury, Ottawa

This poster features designs by Marissa Grano RGD of Creative Odyssey, Melissa Deschenes RGD of Design de Plume and Julien Chaput RGD of OvertheAtlantic.

With this initiative, RGD is recognizing local industry professionals and features projects designed by local RGD Members. The goal of the Design At Work posters is to raise awareness about graphic design's value to business by presenting examples of how design impacts a company’s visibility and recognition.

The Sudbury Design At Work poster is one of a series which will be distributed to local businesses and posted in local public spaces throughout various communities in Ontario. The series also include Guelph, Kingston, Kitchener, London, Markham, Ottawa and Sault Ste. Marie. Each poster features local designers and their work.

“It’s easy for us to forget that everything we touch, see or interact with throughout our hectic days has been designed by someone,” says Stüssy Tschudin RGD, President of RGD. “The Design At Work poster series is our small way of drawing attention to that fact and to the talented designers behind the work.”

Marissa Grano RGD designed the website for Zulich Enterprises Limited, a real estate development company based in Sudbury. Melissa Deschenes RGD worked with the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum, a non-profit organization that connects Canada’s apprenticeship community, to design a brochure, and Julien Chaput RGD developed the visual identity for Frontier Lithium, a specialized mining exploration company.

“This initiative showcases the value of design when applied to local businesses and it's important for us to highlight these amazing relationships,” says Jennifer Taback RGD, Partner at Design de Plume, and Member of RGD's Board of Directors. “Designers excel at communication and it is great to see the successful projects that are happening at a local level.”

The poster also features a link - rgd.ca/Sudbury - to the RGD Designer Directory where anyone looking for a design professional can find out more about the RGD Members working in the community.
