This year, the DesignThinkers Conference identity has been developed by the in-house design team at Deloitte Canada. Based around the theme of 'Confessions', it speaks to delegates from all sectors of the industry who share common attitudes within the creative community.
In an article in Applied Arts Magazine, Caroline Bruckner, Creative Director at Deloitte Canada admits, “The ‘Confessions’ concept was a bit of an outlier, but one of our designers had noted how religiously people attend DesignThinkers every year. So we started thinking about religion, tenets, and the fact that as designers, we care so deeply about our work. We’re passionate.”
Deloitte created a variety of images featuring anonymous silhouettes with a new confession for each. These confessions were collected from Deloitte's creative team and RGD board members to encourage people to think of their own design confessions and engage with the theme.
To put these confessions to use, Deloitte Digital has created a confession booth that will be stationed in the Sony Centre! All delegates are invited to step inside, take a photo and confess their design secrets using the hashtag, #myDTconfession.
To celebrate the launch of DesignThinkers 2016, RGD is co-hosting this year’s Delegate Party with Fjord, a global service design agency. To keep with Deloitte's conference theme, the party will feature design confession-inspired cocktails and illustrators, Ben Weeks & Ian Turner, interpreting your design confessions in large scale.
We are excited to see Deloitte's theme come to life at DesignThinkers 2016. Be sure to come prepared with some confessions to share with your fellow delegates!
