Institute of Communication Agencies launches Pitch Watchdog service
21/02/17

You can now report unfair proposals made by clients and help resolve problems in the pitch process such as unreasonable payment terms and spec work by using Pitch Watchdog.

The Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) has launched Pitch Watchdog, a service for agencies to report their experiences with client pitches and their overall relationship with the client. This confidential platform provides a safe space to talk about both positive and negative cases of client practice in pitching.

Agencies have the option of completing a form on the Pitch Watchdog website or calling the Pitch Watchdog line on 416-482-1396, Ext: 225. Agencies are welcome to submit their reports in strict anonymity if they wish.

The ICA will use this information to identify concerns with the pitch process, protect agencies from bad practice, work with clients and agencies to improve the pitch process, and promote great practice. This initiative will help agencies report unfair proposals made by clients and help resolve problems in the pitch process such as unreasonable payment terms and spec work.

If you have been asked to participate in a spec work competition or know of one, you may also contact us by email at . Spec work and crowdsourcing are condemned by RGD, as they are unethical business practices and are harmful to both designers and clients.
