Digital Designer - Toronto

Creative Niche’s recruitment team is working with a specialty retailer in Toronto to help them find a Digital Designer to execute on a number of deliverables, primarily email, on an 8 week assignment, with possible extension.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for creating digital assets for our client’s experiences, including homepage, email, product and lookbook materials
  • Work closely with consumer experience team to execute digital assets based upon provided wireframe designs
  • Assist the retail and digital teams in the execution of digital assets for retailer online programs
  • Ensure brand consistency (concepts, design, tone) across assets, regardless of platform
  • Bring best practices to life for digital design, with a focus on mobile
  • Apply brand standards to all projects while determining and enhancing the look and feel of existing content and developing new design concepts
  • Analyze marketing challenges and create on-brand design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements
  • Create customer-centric designs by integrating marketing objectives, target audiences, and creative assets into branded experiences
  • Continually keep yourself and the design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards
  • Present and defend your design decisions.
  • All design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
  • Utilize predefined wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows in the development of digital assets, leveraging these to justify your design decisions

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years related digital design experience working in design and digital with a portfolio of world-class visual design
  • Post-secondary education in Web Graphics Design
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience creating digital assets based upon wireframe designs
  • Experienced in working with agile teams and the ability to collaborate closely with developers, analysts and UX designers
  • An excellent knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to implement them to create dynamic digital solutions
  • A solid understanding of web usability and experience
  • Strong conceptualization ability
  • Strong visual communication ability
  • Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate your decisions
