RGD is excited to announce the date of our second Designathon, a 12-hour design challenge where design students and recent grads work in teams on a real-life design project to provide pro bono design services for a non-profit organization.

Date: Saturday, June 23, 2018

Time: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm (specific to time zone of location)

Location: Studios across Canada - Locations confirmed in Halifax, London, Ottawa, Sudbury, Toronto, Vancouver & Victoria

Register here (Open to Student RGDs, Junior Affiliates & Prov RGDs)

RGD's first event at OCAD University was a great success with 10 teams of Student and Provisional RGDs working on projects for 10 non-profits. More on our first event here.

For our second event, RGD is planning to have teams work out of creative studios over the 12 hours. So far, we are pleased to announce the participation of Becoming Design Office in Victoria; Carter Hales Design Lab and Twice in Vancouver; Cayenne Creative in Ottawa; Hambly + Woolley, Ove Brand Design and Sid Lee in Toronto; Design de Plume in Sudbury; m5 in Halifax and UPRLFT in London. If your studio is interested in hosting teams, or you are an RGD interested in leading a team, please email .

In early May, Student RGDs and Provisional RGDs will be invited to sign up to participate. Teams of 3-4 participants will work together on their given brief, led by an experience Creative Director. This event is a great opportunity to connect with fellow designers, network and receive mentorship, while working on a real-life design project for a great cause!

Non-profit organizations are currently being invited to submit design projects to be considered for the event. Apply here. (The deadline is June 11.)
