Zync and Team Canada ​set the gold standard in PyeongChang

As exclusive digital partner for the Canadian Olympic Committee, Zync helped showcase the incredible success of Team Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics Games in PyeongChang with major updates to olympic.ca


Since 2013, Zync has supported the team through the past three Olympic games by creating and maintaining all aspects of the olympic.ca website and the Olympic Club, building their online annual report, developing and updating the Team Canada Media app and supporting new initiatives. This was an especially exciting task for 2018, where the team brought home a record 29 medals and boosted Canada's overall medal count to 500.

"With our latest updates to olympic.ca we improved site speed, added the ability to favour athletes and sports, and introduced an interactive team roster, up-to-the-moment schedule and results, progressive profiling and a fan fun section," says Marko Zonta RGD, Co-Founder and Creative Director at Zync. These latest improvements to the site were designed to take advantage of new technologies and meet the client's goals of continuing to build the Canadian Olympic Club and drive fan participation, engagement and loyalty.

Zync's continued partnership with Team Canada also extended to the PyeongChang 2018 Team Canada Media app, which supported journalists and media sources during the games in English and French. The app was originally designed for Rio 2016 and saw significant updates to optimize performance. New features for 2018 included a live medals count, live results coverage and scheduling features.
