Emerging designers create projects for 11 non-profits during third RGD Designathon

On Saturday, September 29th, emerging designers gathered across the country to participate in RGD's third Designathon. The Designathon is a 12-hour, one-day event where emerging designers, mentored by a senior industry professional, create and finish projects for real non-profit organizations.

 

Teams were hosted in Halifax at m5 Marketing Communications, in London at UPRLFT, in Toronto at Forge Media + Design and Hambly & Woolley, in Ottawa at Greenmelon Inc. and in Vancouver at Hangar18.

 

Below are the projects created by all of the Designathon teams!

 

Assaulted Women's Helpline

Brief: The brief asked for a refreshed brochure that used the organization's new logo.

Brief: The brief asked for a clear and compelling infographic that could be used online, on social media and in printed materials. The messaging on the infographic needed to dispel myths surrounding living organ donation and encourage more Canadians to consider living organ donation.

Brief: The brief asked for a visual identity/brand for the "Lung Health Destination" as well as a template design and digital creative. "Lung Health Destinations" are potential pharmacies where people can learn more about their lung health and various diseases that affect our lungs.

Brief: The brief asked for a one-page, responsive website. The website was for one of their partner initiatives called AZ Tours, where some of the recent graduates from the program have started doing local tours for those visiting Uganda.
