New Projects by RGD Members - November 2019 (3)

Check out work from On the Chase!, Forge Media + Design, Field Trip & Co., Underline Studio, Studio 123 and Barking Pixel Design

Voting information is just. not. sexy. Julian Brown RGD (aka On The Chase!) used motion design to help Elections Canada and Apathy Is Boring get info out to young first-time voters.
Six short videos cheekily promise tips for #YourFirstTime. After playing with innuendo, mining memes and exhausting all the puns, each video ends with a twist—an actually useful voting tip crafted for our next generation of concerned citizens.

Stüssy Tschudin RGD and the Forge Media + Design team's interactive installation at the Globe and Mail Centre is about growth.
It's expressed in the physicality and two different artworks. One celebrates Toronto’s history and its transformation into a vibrant city. The other presents an idyllic forest-scape, illustrating the importance of the balance between nature and urban sprawl.

Following the 2018 redesign of the Holocaust Education Week identity, Alison Garnett RGD and her team at Field Trip & Co launched the event with bolder colours and typography to support the 2019 theme: The Holocaust and you.

Holocaust Education Week is the Neuberger’s annual signature program and has been cited as one of the most comprehensive vehicles for Holocaust education and remembrance in the world. Based on the political climate of today, Field Trip & Co. was inspired by the relationship between design and activism.

Fidel Pena RGD and the Underline Studio team, in the fourth of their series of papers, looked at work being done in Latin America to protect the land rights of marginalized people and preserve waterways from destruction.

With this paper, they honour the courage of four people who have been violently attacked defending the environment.

Nico Taus RGD, Brandon Fordham Prov. RGD and the team at Studio 123 conceived a brand and design system that tailored to a growing range of spirits for Crosscut Distillery.

Crosscut Distillery is a locally owned grain-to-glass distillery in Northern Ontario. The labels are united by intricate pipework patterns which pop off the bottle, especially when produced with foil accents.

Clinton Clarke RGD and the Barking Pixel Design team were approached by long-time signage partner, The Media Works, to create a new identity and marketing collateral.

The Media works wanted the identity and marketing collateral to be “bold, stark and vibrant” and work across many different media. Tagline messaging, social media and vehicle graphics were also updated and given a fresh new look. A new website is in the works.
