RGD revives Creative Directions as a virtual event

Creative Directions will provide panels, presentations and portfolio reviews to help students prepare for careers in the design industry.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, schools have closed, grad shows have been canceled and ultimately graduates are losing opportunities to connect to industry.

In an effort to help fill this gap, RGD is bringing back our Creative Directions Conference as a virtual event with content geared to help grads succeed in their future careers (RGD organized Creative Directions (also called HeadStart) as an in-person event in Toronto from 2008 to 2017). The event will include three days of programming on April 27, 29 and May 1, as well as on-going portfolio reviews and discussions on a Slack Workspace over the entire week.

In addition to the approx. 300 grads that we anticipate will participate, we are also recruiting over 200 industry professionals to volunteer their time and expertise to serve as virtual panelists, presenters and portfolio reviewers.

We invite design professionals to volunteer their time as part of Creative Directions 2020 to help us offer a high-quality experience with content from some of the best and brightest minds in the field. Help us connect young creatives, inspire them and advance their learning at a time when it's so desperately needed.

Sign up now to be one of our virtual portfolio reviewers at rgdhub.wufoo.com/forms/apply-to-be-a-virtual-portfolio-reviewer and spread the word about the event to colleagues and emerging designers you know.
