The Art Director, Video will be responsible for creating and overseeing engaging marketing, educational and corporate audio and live video content including: commercials, interviews, product tours, technical support demos, webinars and live streaming events. Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring a high standard of visual execution across all audio and live video content including: commercials, interviews, product tours, technical support demos, webinars and live streaming events
- Post-production work including editing, visual and sound effects, audio mixing, 2D animation, and integration of 3D models and animation into 2D environments
- Shooting, lighting and audio for all video including studio, green screen and on-location shoots
- Providing technical and artistic support to diverse corporate and scientific stakeholders in developing video content globally
- Directing and reviewing, and providing constructive feedback on and approval of the work of direct reports
- Effectively collaborating with stakeholders and Creative Services team members to produce audio and video content in stylistic adherence with the corporate brand
- Supporting and contributing to a positive and creative work environment for the Creative Services team
- Leading, managing, coaching, developing and evaluating direct reports through regular one-on-one meetings
- Assessing and evaluating training needs of direct reports
- Conducting and documenting performance reviews (quarterly goals and annual reviews) and making compensation recommendations for direct reports in accordance with company policies and practices
- Ensuring all corporate and departmental legal obligations, policies and procedures are understood and followed by all direct reports
- Collaborating with the Photographer to track video and photography inventory, and make recommendations if upgrades are needed
- Support subject matter experts with script writing and editing
- Leading the sourcing of props and models, and booking spaces for video shoots
- Managing livestream technical setup in collaboration with other stakeholders
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma from related school
- 10+ years of relevant working experience
- Demonstrated ability shooting and editing with various cameras, and RED editing in a 4K workflow environment
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe CC software - particularly Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition in a PC environment
- Advanced knowledge of Cinema 4D and its integration with Adobe After Effects is an asset
- A strong knowledge of typography, photography, illustration, eye for composition, strong sense of timing and sequencing, and impeccable attention to detail
- Thorough knowledge of web publishing and video codecs
- Advanced knowledge of Google Suite of products and project management software
- Strong collaboration and consultation skills; including giving and receiving constructive feedback
- A desire to manage a team; experience managing teams as asset
- Advanced knowledge of livestream setup
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask and be willing to work as required to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal skills
