The RGD presents the second Virtual Creative Directions Conference

Last week, over 250 design professionals and students participated in the RGD’s virtual Creative Directions Career Development Conference. With over 26 hours of presentations and panels, and portfolio review sessions still available, registration is still open!


Day 1 of the conference kicked off with intimate, themed roundtable discussions giving the attendees a chance to network with their peers in real-time by sharing advice, experiences and opinions on topics such as ‘How to grow your freelance business without losing your money or your mind’ and ‘When to know that it’s time to move on.’ 
Day 2 began with Aaron Draplin sharing his ‘lockdown saga’ of what kept him going through the pandemic and the lessons he learned along the way, followed by presentations and panels that included How to Sell Creative Services by Michael Janda, How to Earn $10k of Passive Income as a Designer by Jacob Cass, panels on Creating Equity in the Design Industry as Senior Professionals, Hope in Uncertainty and much more. 
Day 3 featured an empowering panel discussion by Ellen Lupton, Kaleena Sales and Leslie Xia on concepts like intersectionality, systemic racism and equity in the workplace followed by a line-up of talks on Untethering Financial Success From Effort by Blair Enns, Cultivating Confidence by Diego Lopez, panel on Job Searching in a Pandemic and more. 
On Day 4 and 5, attendees continued to connect through the themed roundtable discussions and students and grads had portfolios reviewed by seasoned professionals. Students & grads can still sign up for in-person, one-on-one virtual portfolio reviews, which will be available to June 1. Sign up here
