Segundo dela Cruz, Senior Graphic Designer at Ipsos Canada in Vancouver, BC

Ipsos is a multinational market research and consulting firm with headquarters in Paris. Before emigrating to Canada, he was involved in the design and production of major English publications in Asia and the Gulf. He served as an information graphics producer for a government-owned media company in the UAE. In Manila, he provided publication design consultancy services to various international organizations under the United Nations umbrella.


What will you be personally looking for?

I gravitate towards authenticity. I believe it's one of those intangible qualities that truly makes a design speak. It might seem quite odd to "judge" a VISUAL piece of work in unquantifiable terms, something only our souls could understand. But designs that exude authenticity simply connect. And I believe the best-selling author Sarah Ban Breathnach when she said, "The authentic self is soul made visible."

 

Franziska Erlebach, Design Director at Sid Lee in Toronto

Franzi has 10 years of experience working with brands. She has spent themajority of her career at Bruce Mau Design. In her pursuit of culturally impactful design, Franzi has pushed the boundaries of visual identities crossing the digital, print and spatial realms for small- to large-scale clients like the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Audi, Project for Public Spaces and iMentor New York. In addition to studio work, Franzi teaches typography in the Faculty of Design at OCAD University.

 

Lauren Levy, Senior Interaction Designer & Researcher at Pivot Design Group in Toronto, ON

At Pivot, Lauren specializes in storytelling and digital experiences in healthcare. She takes the time to uncover the ‘why’s’, ‘who’s’, ‘how’s’, ‘where’s’ and ‘what’s’ before diving into a solution, which in turn creates a richer and more effective outcome.
