Meet our Committee Members

Chair: Kathleen Scott RGD, Kincardine, ON
Kathleen is an award-winning designer who brings creative solutions to corporate communications. For over a decade, she has been Creative Strategy Team Lead at Bruce Power where they deliver all things design, including a complete rebrand for the company in 2019. In 2017, they were honoured to be the design partner for RGD’s In-House Design Awards. As a Director on the RGD Board and Chair of the Events Committee, Kathleen often moderates webinars and leads initiatives that support in-house designers.


 

 

 

Carolina Balderas Provisional RGD, Surrey, BC
Originally from Mexico, where she obtained a BA in Media and Communication Production, Carolina is a graphic designer working in public service in BC. She has a passion for branding, editorial and inclusive design. She graduated as the 2021 Valedictorian of Toronto Film School’s online Graphic Design and Interactive Media program. She also freelances through her own
design studio, supporting small businesses with their design needs.
 

 

 

 

Angela Brown Carter RGD, London, ON

Angela is a multidisciplinary designer with an aptitude for the written word. She began her career after studying graphic design at Georgian College and broadened her skill set with a degree in literature from the University of Toronto. She currently works at Entro Communications, where she leverages her unique abilities and breadth of experience to contribute to thoughtful and inspirational design solutions across project sectors.

 

 

 


 

Meghan D'Mello, Toronto, ON
Meghan is a designer specializing in print, illustration and motion with a passion for international development, education and gender equality. For the past 10 years, she has prioritized working with socially conscious businesses, not-for-profits and organizations that advance human rights – using design as a tool to bring about positive change in Canada and communities around the world.

 

 

 

 

 

Nicole Duncan RGD, Kingston, ON

Nicole is an Art Director and Graphic Designer with 10 years experience in a range of areas in the industry. She collaborates with clients and agencies on original, persuasive and intelligent solutions that connect to consumers. 

 



 


 

 

Magued Hanna RGD, Newmarket, ON

Magued is a creative leader with over 20 years of strategic, management, and hands-on expertise across media and industries–from fintech and real estate to high tech and automotive. As one of only a handful of UX Master certified professionals in Canada, he has a deep understanding of UX for web and mobile, as well as a passion for accessibility. He also knows what it takes to grow a successful design team from the ground up–and how to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence in cross-functional teams. 
 

 

 

Dave Malarenko RGD, Oshawa, ON

Dave is a multidisciplinary designer with almost a decade of experience in various roles in-house and agency side, that experience has allowed him to work with global and local companies to understand and solve for the unique problems that each face. Dave is passionate about understanding the needs and desires of others, continuously learning and sharing what he's learned, and the intersection of technology and design. He has graduated from–and subsequently taught for 2 years in–Durham College's Graphic Design course.

 

 
 
Selena Mangoni Provisional RGD, Toronto, ON
Selena is a Visual Designer who completed a Business Management Degree from Niagara University and decided she wanted to turn her passion for art into a career, when she attended Toronto Film School for Graphic Design and Interactive Media. She now works at a production company designing print and digital materials and found a new love for UI/UX, which is now her main focus. 

 

 
 
 
 
 
Maggie Ostler RGD, Toronto, ON
Maggie is an award-winning, critically-thinking creative director with 15+ years of hands-on graphic design, art direction and brand management experience. She is a life-long learner, earning an Honours BA in Art History and Renaissance Studies from U of T, a Diploma in Advertising and Graphic Design from Humber College and most recently a Brand Management Certificate from U of T’s Continuing Studies program.

 

 

 

 


Mustaali Raj, Vancouver, BC
Mustaali is an award-winning art director, designer and visual artist with a multi-disciplinary practice. Along with celebrating and advocating for diversity in the creative sector, his creative approach centres around community building, elevating concepts and designing for social good. Being both a third culture kid and an avid traveller, his sense of belonging extends well beyond geographic boundaries. This multi-faceted sense of belonging and experiences play an important role in exploring intersection of identities through his work. He is a circle, living in a square, drawing triangles.

 

 

Andres Ramirez Provisional RGD, London, ON

Andres is an In-House Graphic Designer at InnoSoft Canada Inc. He practices a diversity of design ranging from email campaigns and coding landing pages to animating user interfaces and illustration. He is a Graphic Design graduate from Fanshawe College and is a member of their Program Advisory Committee where he advises the College concerning the development, currency, and community acceptance of its programs.




 
 
Alexandra Vranjesevic RGD, Aurora, ON
Alexandra (Alex) is a graduate of the Seneca College Digital Media Arts program. After graduation, she joined medical manufacturing company, Thermor Ltd, where she is now Graphics Department Manager. As the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, Alex re-committed herself to use high graphic design standards to support consumer safety through clear communication for the creation of accessible and usable products.
