About this opportunity
The Associate Creative Director will collaborate with Sales and Account Managers to oversee and execute all Marketing materials, POP creative, Digital Design & Art Direction across multiple accounts. This person must provide a consistent level of continuity by linking creative objectives and subsequent content across multiple programs where creative is required. Manages and maintains creative excellence by continuously delivering creative solutions that are on brand and on target. Will work with the Strategic Creative Director on larger overarching creative requests to ensure that a proper strategic approach has been taken into consideration. ACD will work closely with Senior Directors to plan and facilitate the growth of the digital business.

What you will do
Creative
  • Maintain a level of creative excellence and quality across all projects as outlined via client and TC expectations
  • Oversee/observe creative content development for all assigned accounts with varying degrees of attention depending on need and urgency
  • Direct photo and Video shoots as required
  • Create the SOW and estimate the larger & more sophisticated creative projects
  • Create and/or direct the construction of client specific photo/video guidelines
  • Work collaboratively within the Creative and Production departments to ensure client requirements and expectations are met or exceeded
  • Develop integrated content creation strategies to fulfill multichannel content requirements
  • Ensure creative team meets or exceeds customer expectation while remaining on budget
  • Assist with New Business Development opportunities
  • Work closely with Director Operations, Director, Premedia Studios to plan growth for content production
  • Keep abreast of current market trends and shopper behaviours and how they affect our clients and our business and recommend associated operational changes and new business opportunities
Team Management
  • Maintain a creative environment that inspires Company values while encouraging team development through inclusion, open communication, and collaboration
  • Develop framework and processes to accelerate capabilities while mentoring the team to be results driven, future-thinking, and inspired  Review creative staff performance reviews with appropriate production manager
  • Performance Excellence Process (PEP) regular touch points/continuous feedback
  • Mentor direct reports as well as all other creative Art Directors and Designers
  • Freelance strategy - Assist in the hiring of creative contract/freelance 

Client Relationships

  • Create and present conceptual work to clients with proper rationales that tie directly to client’s strategies and objectives
  • Create SOWs and estimates for larger & more sophisticated creative projects
  • Respond to client questions with a sense of urgency
  • Assist with New Business Development opportunities
  • Support sales team with development of new business within existing accounts
  • Attend and participate in all client briefings and communicate client feedback to the Creative & Produc¬tion/CSR teams as necessary

 

What you have to offer

  • Requires a degree in Design communications or related discipline
  • Senior AD/ACD with a minimum of 15 years experience in Design Communications, Art Direction, Photo and Video Art Direction with a specialty in Digital Design UI/UX including Multi-channel Digital marketing
  • Requires a degree in Design communications or related discipline
  • Excellent design and photo art direction skills
  • Has experience working on various accounts across multiple platforms
  • Can effectively manage and mentor creative staff
  • Well spoken, excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Can effectively create various types of marketing presentations
  • Can multi-task with ease and has no trouble operating and directing in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Ability to manage a client’s expectations in a positive and proactive manner

  • Savvy business intuition and acumen. Candidate displays ability to make solid recommendations by deeply understanding the wider business picture (creative solutions, growth opportunities, competitive threats etc.)

  • Excellent design, photo & video art direction skills
  • Has worked on various accounts - Retail, CPG & QSR
  • Can multi-task with ease and has no trouble operating and directing in a fast-paced creative environment
  • Can effectively manage and mentor creative staff
  • Ability to manage creative projects within financial constraints (budget etc.)
  • Ability to manage a client’s expectations in a positive and proactive manner
  • Can delegate work to others effectively
  • Retail experience / background preferred
