Members create Outstanding Projects for 10 Non-profits in RGD's second Virtual Designathon

From March 4 to March 6, 2022, 30 emerging designers and 11 seasoned design professionals gathered virtually to participate in the RGD's second Virtual Designathon, our 9th to date.

 

During the RGD's Designathons, design students and recent grads, led by senior professionals, work on real-life design projects for non-profit organizations. This event is an opportunity for participants to connect, network and get real-world experience while using their expertise to contribute to a meaningful cause.

 

Below are the projects created by our teams:

 

Alberta EcoTrust Foundation

Team: Aisulu Aldaniyazova, Laura Beaudin Student RGD & Danielle Wong Provisional RGD

Mentors: Josh McInerney RGD & Tomomi Lo RGD

Goal: Design social media ads that will run year round to grow their social media following and email subscribers to help increase donations.

Brockton Writers Series

MentorRobert Smith RGD

Goal: Design a logo for use across all platforms to cement and expand their brand recognition.

Canadian Congenital Heart Alliance (CCHA)

Team: Mariia Ryzhenko Student RGD, Jodie Chow Student RGD & Andres Ramirez Provisional RGD

Mentor: Raymond Brand RGD

Goal: Design social media assets to enhance awareness of congenital heart disease (CHD) and CCHA, increase donations and gain more volunteers.

Council of Agencies Serving South Asians

Goal: Design the Council's brand identity to eventually be used across all its platforms.

Sinai Health Foundation

Goal: Design a social media campaign to increase awareness for a Pride Month edition of LoveLocks, a fundraising campaign with proceeds going to Pathway to Peers, a program that helps youth access health services.

Goal: Design social media assets to be used for a fundraising campaign, "Give the Gift of Belonging," set to run in June/Pride Month.
