Education and User Experience (UX) Designer - Kingston

Queen’s University is seeking a strong communicator, skilled at managing relationships with diverse groups of clients and team members, for the position of Educational and User Experience (UX) Designer at the Office of Professional Development and Educational Scholarship (OPDES) situated in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

 

Reporting to the Office Manager, OPDES and receiving work direction from the Director, Online Learning, this position requires someone with an educational background in graphic, user or educational design, has a genuine interest in technology, and is able to adapt and learn new technologies quickly. The incumbent will join a team of designers who work with a broad range of health professionals and professors, each with unique challenges that come with developing content for learners who have equally as diverse backgrounds, making it important that the UX Designer possess strong influencing skills to help guide educators in the development of inclusive content that incorporates industry best practices.


Online learning is quickly growing within the education industry, including here at Queen’s University, making this a great opportunity for someone to join a team where they can learn and be ready for the opportunity this growth will present. Given the variety of topics and diversity of audience, the UX Designer will find the work challenging and rewarding, and will receive additional satisfaction knowing their work is providing a platform for health care professionals to enhance their practice, and deliver better health care to their patients.
