The RGD's new Mentorship Program aims to help Certification Candidates through the Process

Are you on the fence about getting RGD Certified? Do you have questions about the Certification Process? Sign up for the RGD's new Certification Mentorship Program to be paired with a Mentor who will help you to achieve your RGD Certification

Next deadline to apply: TBA

Apply now!

Provisional RGDs, Affiliate Members and any designers with 8 or more years of relevant education and work experience combined are invited to apply.

This pilot program connects potential new Members with Certified RGDs to mentor and support them by addressing questions and concerns, sharing their experiences and providing guidance. As much as possible, we will align Mentors with Mentees who share a similar background or field of focus.

RGD Certification involves 4 steps: eligibility determinations, an 80-minute multiple-choice online test, presentation of 6 portfolio pieces to 3 seniors over 30 minutes and finally, joining the RGD after the results. Find more information on the process here.

All Mentorship sessions will take place virtually, with the time, date and range as determined by the Mentor and Mentee mutually.

As a Mentee, you can ask your Mentor any questions unique to your situation and related to any stage of the RGD Certification process, including:

  • What’s involved?
  • How difficult is the test?
  • How much time will it take?
  • What is the value of membership?
  • I’m in a unique workplace, will my work be recognized? Will it be good enough?
  • What if I don’t?
  • How much does it cost?
  • Do I need support from my employer?

Complete your Certification by April 30, 2022, to receive a free (streaming or in-person) pass to DesignThinkers Vancouver (May 31-June 1) or by June 30, 2022, to receive free dues for the remainder of 2022 & a free pass to DesignThinkers Toronto (October 26-28).
