Mooren (Mo) Bofill RGD, Partner, Creative Director, Design at 123w in Toronto, ON
Mo is a Partner and Creative Director at one of Canada’s leading agencies with offices in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Born in the Philippines, growing up in Toronto, she brings a diverse point of view that mixes her passion for design, creativity and business strategy to Canadian design and advertising.
She believes in building brands through a human experience: How we can bring humanity in to how we work together, how we approach work and how we communicate as brands. How we can design something that has a direct impact on our everyday experience. How we use creativity to not only build business, but to use creativity to appeal to the best in us all.

Ross Chandler RGD, Founder & Creative Director of Becoming Design Office in Victoria, BC

Ross is a 15 year veteran of the graphic design industry and founder/creative director at the brand design studio, Becoming Design Office. He is a graduate of OCADU where he won the school medal for editorial design and went on to work at leading creative studios in Toronto and Vancouver before settling in Victoria. His approach to design is process-based, strategic and often relies heavily on typography, which he believes is the cornerstone of applied design.

Meeting Topics: Client relationships including dealing with difficult clients, Brand design and brand design strategy. Print and packaging design, designing for physical spaces and incorporating artwork using physical mediums into applied design.

 

Chris Reyes RGD, Creative Director at Anthem Creative in Edmonton, AB

Chris is an award-winning designer and art director with a passion for people and design. Chris’s work experience in various agency environments that require leadership, creativity, and collaboration has taught him to solve problems using strategic, creative solutions and to pursue innovation. He also believes that design plays a pivotal role in how our culture evolves and how we use our skills as creatives has the capacity to drive organizations forward and change the world for the better.

Laura Stein RGD, Partner and Chief Creative Officer at Bruce Mau Design in Toronto, ON
As Partner and Chief Creative Officer at Bruce Mau Design, Laura provides overall creative and strategic direction for the studio’s brand and design output. The firm works across borders and cultures, helping organizations at every scale grow, transform and deliver indelible experiences.  Laura has been instrumental in shaping bmd’s 35-year legacy, working with some of the world’s leading brands and cultural institutions. For Laura, great design brings together strategic thinking, deep-seated stories, and inspired creative expression — and has the potential to shift the way we think about the world around us. Recent clients include ASICS, Linksys, lululemon, Department of Culture & Tourism Abu Dhabi and Great Rivers Greenway in St. Louis, MO.

Mel Sutjiadi RGD, Founder of ARToverMATTER in Calgary, AB

Mel (they/them) is a QTPOC multi-disciplinary creative director, graphic designer, illustrator, front-end developer, and educator who believes in using their creative power for social good. Mel is a founder of ARToverMATTER, a creative studio who gives a damn, and a co-founder of Ripple of Change Magazine. Outside of AOM, you might find Mel as a guest speaker sharing their immigrant entrepreneurship journey or advocating for inclusive and accessible design.

Meeting Topics: This group will be a safe space for the misfits, the queers and neurodivergent designers with lots of room for expressions, exploration and growth. We’ll get to know each other, set individual goals, be accountable to and support each other throughout the mentorship. I’d offer two listening ears and sharp eyes for details, an honest perspective, and an endless amount of wacky ideas and helpful resources.

 

Ronald Tau RGD, Founder of Meat in Toronto, ON

Ronald (@rontau) is a Chinese Canadian art director and graphic designer specializing in visual identity design. Born in Hong Kong, raised in Toronto, based in both Toronto and Beijing, Ronald creates in multicultural creative contexts, crossing cultural borders through creativity and design. His work has received recognition and coverage with Type Directors Club, Tokyo Type Director’s Club, It’s Nice That, Applied Arts, Brand New, VICE and 032C.
