Graphic designer Felix Nguyen Provisional RGD won the Domtar Award for Print Design in 2022 for his project Enchanté Drag Informative Booklets.
Here Felix shares why he chose to enter his work and some advice for students who are interested in submitting.
How did you choose what project(s) to enter?
I looked at the categories and picked projects that I am most proud of and put the most work into.
How long did it take you to complete your submission?
It took me about a week.
Why did you choose to enter your work in the RGD Student Awards?
I entered the Awards because I wanted to get some recognition for my work, as well as exposure to the design community.
All students who submit receive feedback on their work. Was it helpful for you to receive feedback from a design professional on your submission(s)?
It was very interesting and helpful getting feedback from a design professional. I got to hear about my projects from a different perspective and work on their suggested improvements.
Has winning this award been a positive experience for you?
It was a great experience winning the award. It’s given me recognition from the industry as well as helped me financially with my last year of school.
Do you have any advice for other students who are interested in submitting?
Be confident in your work and enter. You have a lot to gain and nothing to lose!
