Winning Project: Doldrums: A Trip Through History by Russell Banfield-Vizcarrondo Student RGD, George Brown College, Toronto, ON
Award sponsored by 52 Pick-up

A Trip Through History
The project aimed to create an engaging educational initiative on African American history for a younger audience. Typography, particularly hand-done calligraphy inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat, played a pivotal role. The use of dip pens and Winsor & Newton Indian ink added an artistic touch and imagery complemented the typography, ensuring a cohesive visual experience. The fonts are bold and striking for easy readability and to engage the target demographic effectively.
