Why am I an RGD?it's true that you get out what you put in. The RGD is a never-ending source of support, inspiration, resources, community, conversation, It has been a solid foundation for me to support the ever changing landscape of design. It's home-base. I am and RGD not only to be a part of the community that is supporting designers, but to have a voice to celebrate the contributions of the design industry.
What is my most memorable RGD moment?SO MANY! I honestly think I would have to reach back to 2011, my first Designthinkers conference. George Lois, Jessica Hische, Chip Kidd? My mind was blown! It was that conference really that opened my mind to the incredible opportunities that the RGD could provide. Since then i have had the incredible opportunities to serve as an award judge, a mentor, a committee member, a portfolio reviewer, a certification reviewer, and an RGD board member.
Why am I a designer?I don't think there was another path my life could take. The best part of my childhood was a blank paper and the possibilities that it held. Most often resulting in a new form of typography (that my mom complained was hard to read, because I was playing with letter forms). Attending a vocational High School for the arts, commercial design only grew that passion. I live design everyday - it fuels me.
Why should you hire me?If you want to work with an incredibly passionate, hardworking, strategic, creative, and talented Graphic Designer/Creative Director, I'm your woman! Bringing 22+ years of creative and leadership experience, with roots in brand strategy/development and packaging, I have experience in almost all sectors. From print to digital to interactive experiences.
Where do I see myself in 5 years?Looking back on the last five, it's been a crazy road. Who only knows where trends and technologies will shape the way we design. In that future, I see myself continuing to adapt to a changing design landscape. I would like to see myself owning my own business, or a senior leadership position, and bringing value to the creative community.
