Why am I an RGD?
I became a member of RGD because I value the community feel it creates, all the effort that goes into organising events that engage designers at all different levels, creating conversation, awareness, and providing benefits and opportunities that would not exist without the RGD. I want to support these efforts that support designers, and I am happy and honoured to be part of it. What is my most memorable RGD moment?
Every DesignThinkers conference I've attended (three so far)Why am I a designer?
The question "Is design art?" has fascinated me ever since I first heard it, on my application form for undergrad. I love both but I chose design because it struck me as more useful to everyday people, more capable of communication and more in tune with everyday needs. I'm glad I chose to become a designer, because I've found the above to be true. In my experience at least, being a designer has enabled me to bridge the gap between different points of interest, and help people communicate with each other, which is an amazing thing. Why should you hire me?
I love proposing unexpected or unconventional approaches to things (not just problems) and I am very comfortable with ambiguity. Hire me if you want an unusual perspective, presented in an elegant, minimal manner. I'm great at both. Where do I see myself in 5 years?
Although I started off fascinated with editorial design, my interests have shifted toward a very niche area. In five years, I would like to be working as an information designer and data storyteller at a multi-disciplinary firm, on projects that help people overcome the communication breakdowns and informational anxieties of the day.
