Why am I an RGD?
I became an RGD 26 years ago, after leaving my corporate magazine design job, to go solo. I needed to find a group or association that offered professional support, guidance and those all-important group health benefits. What is my most memorable RGD moment?
My most memorable RGD moment was speaking on editorial design to a small group of RGD’s at the Arts & Letters Club. My talk wasn't so memorable, but It was the first time I had been in St. George's Hall, and it was humbling, knowing that previous club members like the Group of Seven, had passed time in this historic place. Why am I a designer?
Growing up in the 60s/70s, I was mesmerized by the magazines I would find in the barber shop - Esquire, Life, Look, etc. The illustration, photography and layouts were very striking, and the stories being told - War, Peace, Civil Rights, Famous Boxers, Pop Artists - were captivating. I didn’t know what graphic design was at the time, but I knew I wanted to be part of this visual and journalistic feast. Why should you hire me?
We're easy to work with and deliver visual communication solutions you can be proud of. If you like our work and appreciate what an Indigenous perspective can offer your brand, then you can't go wrong hiring us.
Where do I see myself in 5 years?
In five years, I hope to be my main client. Expressing myself through art & design in various media. Perhaps take on a few select projects each year that I feel passionate about.Contributions to RGD
