Why am I an RGD?I joined at the very beginning of RGD because I felt our industry needed to professionalize itself. While anyone can still call themselves a designer, I think our clients understand what tremendous value we can bring to their businesses. RGD has been part of that education through Design Thinkers, and most importantly, through educating the next generation of designers.
What is my most memorable RGD moment?Chatting with George Lois at Design Thinkers in 2011. George was the original ‘mad man’ and I was always inspired by the way his ideas were made seminal by his art direction. But I could find something memorable from every year that I’ve been to DesignThinkers.
Why am I a designer?I create ideas at the intersection of words and images. As a brand strategist, and design thinker, I love the process of interpreting my clients' business objectives into work that connects emotionally with their audiences. Design is the differentiator that can elevate an idea. Design is a visceral way of communicating in an instant. That never ceases to be exciting to me.
Why should you hire me?My 30 plus years with a multitude of clients, in particular M&A, brand launches for both new products and companies, and brand revitalization, means there is little in the way of experience I can’t draw upon. My expertise is focused on branding and brand naming is an area that I think is often under-realized – my design background allows me to evaluate the names I create with their visual options, adding value and integrating the process.
