Company description
Through the Sky Studio is Aboriginally owned and operated. The company started doing freelance work for various committees within the Indigenous community such as Aboriginal Team Ontario in 2007, the Biindigaate Film Festival in 2008, The North American Indigenous Games in 2008 and also the Aboriginal Youth Recognition and Achievements Awards in 2006.

The company was created to start accepting other clients within the community. Many of whom have been returning customers for over 10 years.

Through the Sky Studio provides a range of graphic design from logos to magazine layouts. We have completed a wide variety of Ojibway, Ojicree and Cree text layouts in newspaper, advertising and phonebooks.

Why am I an RGD?
I am an RGD because I believe in what RGD stands for. It is a quality control and best practices standard that lets clients know that we are committed to excellence in our field. I believe it gives clients peace of mind and gives another level of credential to the designer.
What is my most memorable RGD moment?
I became a student RGD in 2003, then an Associate member in 2006 after graduating from a 3 year Graphic Design program. My most memorable moment was when I traveled to Toronto to do my portfolio review. The entire experience was exciting. From meeting the RGD Panelists and then justifying my designs. I really felt like I was part of something bigger. Receiving my full fledged RGD certificate in 2011 comes in a close second.
Why am I a designer?
Since childhood I've always had a curiosity for colour and art and balance. My method often includes feeling a layout. I enjoy "making things pretty".
Why should you hire me?
I often take rush jobs that design houses and bigger businesses can't complete. My expertise in the software allows me to work quickly, and because my work is often completed in the evenings, I can turn a project overnight.

I believe in best practices and will advise you on options that will be suited to your budget and unique needs. I am audience focused as well, my first question to clients is usually about their target market.
Where do I see myself in 5 years?
I see myself working with my freelance clients in a mobile-living van while travelling around North America for a year.
