Why am I an RGD?I’m an RGD to learn and share. Education has been the driving force of my career. The RGD has continually supported my career since 1997, with the yearly DesignThinker conferences including behind the scenes with Webinars, Handbook’s, business document examples, Accessibility Guidelines, Case Studies, over the phone advice and video lecture recordings. Being an RGD has allowed me to share knowledge by mentoring, giving talks, reviewing young professional portfolios, contributing to the inspiration archive and, most importantly, meeting new aspiring designers and reconnecting with peers at RGD hosted events.
Why am I a designer?This is going to sound odd, but from a young age, I wanted to be a designer because of the TV show Bosom Buddies. Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari seemed to have the best job in the world. Following graduation, it was a while before I recognized myself as a designer—about three years into my career. Then, for me, the question was, what more could I do, what else did I need to learn, how could I expand my abilities, and advance my career.
