RGD Designers + Drinks + Discussions - Toronto

There will be a 30 minute mingling, networking portion from 6:30 to 7:00 PM (with food!) and then participants will be divided into groups for discussions from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Everyone will be able to choose two discussions and spend an hour at each discussion. These are casual conversations—no presentation or preparation necessary.

Discussion Leader: Glenda Rissman RGD, Principal at q30 design inc.
Glenda is a design professional with over 30 years of high profile design experience – 23 of those years have been with the firm q30 design in Toronto, a firm she co-founded. What she enjoys most is being part of a team that provides her clients with a visual language that describes what they do, across all touchpoints: print, digital and social media.
Topic: How can one keep designing for print in a world that's seemingly more and more digital? What are the strengths of print design all the way to print production?
Discussion Leader: Gilbert Li RGD, Principal at The Office of Gilbert Li
Gilbert Li is the founder of The Office of Gilbert Li, a full-service graphic design studio. From ground breaking books to trendsetting packaging, his work has received accolades from the most prestigious international design organizations and publications.
Topic: Navigating the ins-and-outs of working in a small agency
Discussion Leader: Victor Szeto RGD, Creative Director at Green Living Enterprises
Victor Szeto is currently the Creative Director at Green Living Enterprises, a cause-marketing agency focused on social and environmental program development. He is responsible for the overall visual communication that range in scope from advertising campaigns, websites and events, in addition to the Green Living Show.
Topic: Why do designers all dress the same? An honest conversation about accessibility, inclusivity and diversity in design.
Discussion Leader: Adam Antoszek-Rallo RGD, Founder & Principal at Catalyst Workshop
Adam teaches part-time at both Sheridan & Humber College, while serving on the curriculum committee for the Bachelor of Design program at York/Sheridan. Adam is passionate about creating positive social impacts through the interaction of design, pedagogy & technology.
Topic: Joys and trials of freelancing, pricing and running your own business
Discussion Leader: Evelyn Csiszar RGD, Founder & Lead UX/UI designer at Collective Experience
Evelyn's lifelong fascination with studying how people think and act has led to a deep passion for user experience design. She as worked on projects for organizations like University of Toronto, BMO, HydroOne, CCRM, Futurpreneur, HEQCO, CNIB and the Ontario Science Centre.
