RGD Designers + Drinks + Discussions - Toronto

Designers of all levels are invited to get together to meet fellow creative professionals and discuss issues of importance to you and your peers.

There will be a 30 minute mingling, networking portion from 6:30 to 7:00 PM (with food!) and then participants will be divided into groups for discussions from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Everyone will be able to choose two discussions and spend an hour at each discussion. These are casual conversations—no presentation or preparation necessary.

Discussion Leader: Monica Kessler RGD, Managing Partner at Ove Brand | Design

Monica is a design professional and communications strategist with over 30 years in the industry. Her approach emphasizes the central importance of brand differentiation in enabling companies to meet their immediate business objectives while keeping the focus on the broader market opportunities. She helps create the tools and messages needed to manage and maintain brand focus across multiple platforms and diverse teams, with an eye to best practices in communications and emerging trends. Among her notable contributions are the over-three-decades relationship with BMO Financial Group and CBC’s The National rebrand in 2017.

Over the past 25 years Wayne has collab­o­rated with the world’s lead­ing insti­tu­tions, corpo­ra­tions, design­ers, vision­ar­ies, artists and entre­pre­neurs. With sensi­bil­i­ties deeply rooted in prod­uct design and plan­ning he has directed projects for major airports, tran­sit systems, cultural sites, entertainment facil­i­ties, both nation­ally and internationally.

Discussion Leader: Alison Garnett, Partner at Field Trip & Co

Alison is a Toronto-based creative director with over 20 years of global and national design, advertising and digital experience. Through the course of her award-winning career, Alison’s work has spanned various industries including automotive, retail, consumer-packaged goods, professional services, telecommunications and not-for-profit.
