Why am I a designer?I've always been a visual thinker without knowing what "design" was—combined with my desire to make sense of the world around me and a craving for good narrative, it was only a matter of time before I discovered Graphic Design as a way to maybe make a difference in people's lives.
As a thoughtful designer (my undergrad was a philosophy B.A), I approach each project with the objective to understand, and as a versatile designer, I execute the solution by simplifying what I've learned. As an illustrator, my process is heavily informed by a designer's sensibilities.
Why should you hire me?My experience the past 5 years stretches across agency, in-house, and boutique studio workflows, as well as a deep understanding of client/studio relationships as a freelancer and independent designer. I'm comfortable in print, digital, and environmental design. With a focus on Brand Identity and helping clients navigate the design process, I've worked with local and national brands, and I've been featured several times in Applied Arts Magazine—twice for Packaging Design Awards.
I also really value community; in my personal work, I've forged strong relationships working with non-profit and arts organizations; and industry-wise, I've been an active member of the GDC since winning the National Scholarship Award in 2011, and since 2015 as a member of RGD.
