- Randal is founding principal of 12thirteen, a firm focused on serving the non-profit and performing arts sectors. Word-of-mouth promotion has grown his client list from small businesses and independent artists to York University and the Canadian Women’s Foundation.
- Katherine is a senior in-house graphic designer at the University of Toronto, with a special appreciation of forms, charts, grids, ampersands, and intricate cut-outs. In her spare time, she's pretty analog, working on letterpress and linocut prints.
- Chase is a Senior Graphic Designer at MCAP, one of Canada’s largest independent mortgage finance companies located in downtown Toronto in the Financial district.With a decade of art and creative direction experience working with major retailers, financial services, and national brands, he knows what it takes to get the job done.Previously he worked in retail designing packaging lines with more than 250 products on shelves in retail stores like Walmart, Target, Canadian Tire, Costco, Home Outfitters and a myriad of others.Chase holds a degree from Fanshawe in Graphic Design and diplomas in Marketing and Accounting.
- Since 2013, Ray has overseen all creative development aspects of the Faculty’s visual identity and has won numerous awards for his creative, design and strategic work. His areas of expertise include strategic brand and identity development, publications and packaging design. Prior to joining U of T, Ray was Lead Graphic Designer at Kobo Inc. and Art Director at DUO Strategy & Design Inc.
Amanda was formally educated in graphic design at York University and Sheridan College in their four year joint Bachelor of Design program. She became a fully accredited member of the R.G.D. in 2007.
After working for five years in boutique studio settings, she launched Melontree Studios. Over the last 11 years as Creative Director, she has become a specialist in working with non-profit and charitable organizations of all sizes. She works collaboratively with her growing design team and client-side marketing and communications
staff to develop fundraising and awareness campaigns and event collateral. Amanda has developed a keen awareness of branding issues, a very useful set of project and client management skills, and a critical eye for detail. Current and past clients include Kids Help Phone, Sunnybrook Hospital Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, Environmental Defence Canada, Habitat for Humanity, Canadian Women's Foundation, Holland Bloorview Kids' Rehab Hospital, and Parkinson Society.
Amanda has contributed to her design community over the years as a member of the Provisional RGD Committee, an RGD mentor and internship host, a panel speaker and seminar host, a portfolio reviewer at RGD's Creative Directions conference, a contributing author for the RGD Review and other publications, and a design educator at Durham and Mohawk Colleges.
- Melissa is a bilingual, multi-faceted designer who is an experienced illustrator and photographer. Nominated as the office CSS/Photoshop wizard, Melissa creates unique designs and illustrations that fit well for her clients' projects. With 10 years experience in running a studio and 4 years experience as an educator, Melissa enjoys
mentoring new designers as well as being part of the creative process from start to finish. A big bulk of the projects she works on involves branding, layout and website design. Colour theory and pattern making play a big part in her work and are what separates her design style in it's own unique way.
Greg is an art director and graphic designer at Cossette Communication Inc., based out of Halifax, NS. Holding degrees in both graphic design and illustration, Greg’s work is rooted in strong conceptual ideas. His illustrative approach has been used in branding, marketing and advertising campaigns for both national clients and small market entrepreneurial ventures.
Greg’s passion for design is inspired by his willingness to learn from others and build a global community of like-minded individuals that hold craft, creativity and ethical industry standards to the highest level.

- Eric is a graphic designer, photographer and researcher. He has been employed as an in-house designer, writer, and photographer by large municipalities, police services, and international law firms. As a contract creative, Eric has worked with a range of businesses, and in particular restaurants from the national, regional, and local scale. He is a graduate student at OCADU, focusing his research on facilitating design thinking and literacy for blind people by increasing accessibility in woodworking shops.
Lionel is co-founder and Creative Director of Context Creative in Toronto. He is responsible for the firm's creative output and oversees the design team working for clients such as Toronto Hydro, Ontario Power Generation, Hydro One Networks, Canada Post, Canada Health Infoway, Ontario Trails Council, Ontario Ministry of the Environment, SynecticsWorld and Beck’s Beer.
Lionel has a passion for the impact that design thinking can make in building businesses and differentiating brands in a world that is rapidly commoditizing.
Under Lionel’s leadership, Context Creative has won over 50 awards from the Canadian Marketing Awards, ADCC Directions, RGD Design at Work, the CPRS ACE Awards and the GDC Graphex awards.
- Jessica is the Creative Director and Principal at Anthem Design, a Northern Ontario based design studio. She also serves as part-time faculty in the graphic design program at Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology.A Registered Graphic Designer, Jessica holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University and a Master of Design from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.Her work strives to create sustainable communities and small business growth through design initiatives.
- Derwyn Goodall RGD has 30 years of high-profile design and branding experience and 15 years of experience as a design educator. His firm, Goodall Integrated Design, utilizes an integrated approach that enables clients to build business while building their brands. He has worked with many of Canada’s most noted organizations, including: Ministry of Education, Canadian Heritage, Hydro One and Canada Post.In the late 1990’s, Derwyn helped create the RGD Certification exam, which is the benchmark for professional standards and ethics in the graphic design industry.
Early on, Wendy juggled running a graphic design business with teaching at George Brown College and York University, but now focuses on her firm Gravity Inc. Wendy loves building strong and effective communications, either as a brand steward for Gravity's many loyal clients or as a fresh set of eyes for the new clients who come calling. She emphasizes client contact, as well as the delivery of design and strategy that invites audiences to engage, learn and take action.
- Jaimie is an Interactive Designer at Sephora Canada working within the Marketing Department.
Previously Jaimie worked at a small boutique creative agency, Fusion Design Group in Markham. At Fusion Jaimie was Team Lead and directed creative projects for various clients from big corporations to small start ups.
Jaimie holds an Advanced Diploma from Georgian College in Graphic Design as well as a Degree from George Brown College in Advanced Digital Design.
Athena is Director of Product Design at TouchBistro, a leading technology company with innovative products that make the lives of restaurateurs easier. She brings decades of expertise in user interface design across mobile, website, software and native apps, with a foundation in branding and print design. Athena’s mission is to create intentional experiences through design, positioning the user's experience at the core of everything we do. All while inspiring a team of talented designers, meeting stakeholder objectives and instilling creativity, quality, and integrity throughout the design process.
- James is a multi-disciplinary art director, senior designer and design entrepreneur whose work encompasses print-and-digital media. Previously, James was a senior designer of Graphic Design and Digital Media at the Museum of Modern Art, in New York, as well as a freelance senior designer at Royal Ontario Museum. For decades, he has designed digital-and-print collateral projects for MoMA and ROM’s exhibitions and programs as well as design studios in Toronto.
James has earned variety of awards and appeared in North America design publications, including DesignEdge, CMYK, Graphic Design USA, Print and Communication Arts. James has BFA in Communications Design with honours from Pratt Institute and MFA in Design from School of Visual Arts in New York, USA.
- Jennifer is Design Director at Skylight Communication. Her over 15 years in the communications industry includes art direction and design for branding, print and digital media. After a number of years honing skills in the agency world she started an independent graphic communication studio in 2006. She continues to work collaboratively with other creative professionals who emphasize the value of design in effective communication.
Personal computers did not exist when I started my career as a professional graphic designer. My work station was a drafting table. My tools were a set of drawing pens that seemed to be always clogged, a ruling pen, a parallel ruler, French curves and shape templates, a protractor, a jar of black and white gouache, a proportional percentage wheel and a cropping ruler. The work environment was collaborative, because I had to rely on various skilled tradespeople such as typographers to assist me in creating a final product. And the nature of executing design work was perceived as a mystery.
Young professional graphic designers today are facing a complex challenge. Despite their skills and talents, technological tools have facilitated quicker execution which only emphasizes the greater need to know how to understand and solve problems.
I became a member of the evaluation committee in order to help build a strong community of professional graphic designers who will shape an original, creative and innovative representation of what we are as a culture and who will make a difference in the world.
A member of the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) since its inception, I have more than 35 years of design experience. I have worked in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto before starting my own business in 1989 that would become Costa Leclerc Design (CLD). Meg is a senior designer at Forge Media + Design, located in Toronto.
For over nine years she’s applied her insight and enthusiasm to both Toronto and Vancouver’s design industries. She’s sharpened her skills crafting brands, building strategies and creating digital solutions that ensure meaningful experiences for the end user.
The Morano Graphic Design team is led by company founder Angelo Morano. Before launching Morano Graphic Design, Angelo led the package design team at Joseph Mimran and Associates (now Loblaw) where he created and managed the packaging of two of Canada’s most recognized brands, JOE FRESH and President’s Choice. At JM&A, Angelo built the general merchandise and health and beauty packaging program from the ground up.
Angelo is a contributor to the George Brown College Design Program Advisory Committee and is an award-winning Graphic Designer based in Toronto, Canada.
Megan is the founding principal and creative director of Field Design Office and a design educator in Toronto. Partnering with clients in entertainment, arts, hospitality and corporate sectors, she specializes in creative direction and design spanning branding, packaging, film titling, wayfinding and exhibition design–most notably for Stefan Sagmeister and Jessica Walsh on The Happy Show in Toronto.
Previously, Megan worked as a designer at Bruce Mau Design, Art Director, EMI Music Canada and Design Professor, Art & Art History at University of Toronto / Sheridan, where she continues to teach. Additionally, Megan serves on the RGD Board of Directors; VP, Education Committee, and is a Certification Portfolio Evaluator.
- Rebecca is a Senior Project/Account Manager at Context Creative. Rebecca brings a decade of experience guiding and managing the needs of public sector clients, particularly in healthcare, energy and culture.
- Kathy works as the Brand & Graphic Design Specialist at the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC and as a sessional design instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley. In the years leading up to her current role, Kathy focused on multidisciplinary communication design projects with clients such as SFU, Variety Children's Charity, Alzheimer Society, Technical Safety BC and Health Canada.
- As founder and creative director of Greenmelon, Robert develops creative strategies–with a keen eye to messaging and aesthetics–for clients such as Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Farm Boy Fresh Markets, the Royal Canadian Mint, DC Comics and Warner Brothers.
He has received more than 100 awards of distinction from professional organizations and publications from around the world and have been featured in international trade magazines as well as being published in several hardbound publications.
He also speaks at professional development seminars, schools as well as for industry webinars. Topics have included the future of package design, how social media has changed design and building a better brand.
- Victor is the Creative Director at Green Living Enterprises. Having worked in a variety of media in the graphic design field, Victor brings more than a decade of invaluable visual knowledge to the table. He is proud and fortunate to constantly be collaborating with passionate and interdisciplinary teams where he gets to create, develop and execute a variety of visual communications on a daily basis. Projects he’s been involved with include environmental graphics, campaigns, and collateral for the ROM, Cineplex, Scotiabank, TD Bank, Toronto Hydro, the Pembina Institute, University of Toronto, Eva’s Initiatives, the Green Living Show and the Canadian Journalists for Free Expression.
Jennifer Taback is a Partner at Design de Plume, a design and web studio located in Sudbury Ontario. A Registered Graphic Designer and graduate of both Graphic Design at Cambrian College and Laurentian University's Communication program Taback has had great success in working in the ever changing design market.
Taback is currently a board member of the Sudbury Design Society and in 2014 was recognized as the Northern Ontario Business Awards' Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
- Paul is an accomplished web and graphic designer, digital strategist and photographer with over 20 years of experience. His expertise spans with a broad range of leadership, technological, usability and creative talent all applicable to innovating digital tools, design, websites and branding within the corporate technology structure.
Paul ran a small boutique digital design business called Vertexmedia for 15+ years. He is currently a Digital Strategist and Web Systems Manager at a non-profit health and drug technology agency.
- Eduardo is a senior multi-disciplinary designer at Ove Brand|Design, and an RGD member since 2010. His formal academic training is in advertising design, photography and animation, yet his creative interests and explorations have led him to build additional expertise in web design and video.
Eduardo has worked, both locally and abroad, as a multimedia designer and web front-end specialist. His diverse client base includes BMO, Canada Post, WestJet, the Canadian Cancer Society, Walmart, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, OLG Corporation, and the University of Toronto.
Eduardo studied and practiced design in Costa Rica before coming to Canada to study at Seneca College’s renowned animation program and working at some of the top-tier firms in Toronto.
Stüssy is a founding principal of Forge Media + Design. Born and raised in Switzerland, he originally was a Swiss banker by day and a graffiti artist by night. He soon realized that his passion for the creative needed to be nourished more and decided to go back to school to become a graphic designer. Stüssy's roles range from creative direction, to quality assurance, to managing various client accounts such as Apple.
After working her way through Ontario College of Art & Design and graduating with multiple awards in 1995, Jennifer gained experience at several of Toronto's design agencies. For 15 years, Jennifer played a key role in idea generation and design excellence at Oxygen Design Agency. As a former Principal and Creative Director she created smart, effective, memorable work for major brands such as Coca-Cola, Nike, and the LCBO.
Passionate for non-profits, she was instrumental in assisting organizations like Sunnybrook Hospital, Meal Exchange, the Toronto Public Library Foundation, SickKids Foundation and Acumen Fund produce noticeable work that powers results.
In 2013, Jennifer launched Weaymouth Creative, her own boutique design firm. Her award-winning, crafted work is influenced by a global outlook, travel and a love of all things designed. Jennifer's passion for life and love of design fuel her creativity and inspire those around her.
- Whether developing creative for international brands such as TRESemmé and Dove, or maintaining brand integrity while bringing the new Milton city logo to life, Christina delights in the variety that graphic design offers. In her 10-year career, she has worked in both print and web. She is currently working to maintain the integrity of Milton’s rebranding and redefine a community’s perceptions through its visual identity.
- For more than 20 years, Fe Wyma has worked with a range of public and corporate clients across Canada. She is the principal designer of Kapwa Communications whose work is founded on the belief that communications is about more than strategy, design, and branding: it’s about the power of ideas and the ability to affect positive change in our community through responsible, creative practices. Fe was formerly a design professor at Algonquin College and Georgian College, and this, along with her experiences in Canada’s most northern and southern communities, fuel her desire to stay curious and keep learning.
- Nayla is a senior graphic designer with substantial experience in branding and publication design. She spent the last few years working as a freelancer, with commercial and non-profit clients around the world, and has recently joined the in-house design team at Kira Systems. Nayla invests a lot of time into research, strategy and information architecture to lay the foundations for the design process and reach comprehensive solutions. She approaches typesetting and hand lettering with rigor, often calling upon her trilingual background to create bilingual layouts and dual brand applications. She enjoys making trips to the printing press to brainstorm production ideas and oversee the production process.
Michael is an in-house designer at the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, where he designs resources and tools to help organizations meet Ontario’s accessibility standards. With over 10 years’ experience in the design industry, Michael helps partner organizations, other government ministries and private-sector studios create attractive designs that are both AODA compliant and user-friendly.
He sits on both the RGD Accessibility Advisory Committee and the RGD Examination board.
