Design: 20+ years experience;
Brand Strategy: 6+ years experience.
Why am I an RGD?I am a registered designer because I believe in the value of design and community. An association offers resources and a platform that supports designers.
In the past, I’ve had experiences with people and agencies stealing my design work, and also demanding speculative work. My hope is that an association will have my back and support me when I need it.
And the design industry is changing. Artificial intelligence, video, and new technologies and companies are allowing anyone with a computer to be a designer. I want to stay current and know what is on the horizon.
What is my most memorable RGD moment?I do enjoy presenting to the other GRD members and the conferences.
Why am I a designer?I became a graphic designer because I had a natural talent for art, but I also appreciated business.
I stay a designer because I enjoy assisting businesses and organizations with their brand, marketing, and communications challenges.
Why should you hire me?I'm a goal-oriented, high-level thinker who thrives on deadlines.
I have over 20 years of experience working in the industry and in different environments such as private, publicly traded, and non-profit. I worked my way up from the very bottom of the print industry to managing small teams and handling myself in highly politically charged work environments.
So aside from having a natural instinct for art & design, these experiences have molded me into a good designer and a smart woman—but I'm not a diva. I love to learn and be challenged. I get along with others and I value teams because teams can get more done, faster.
