The Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) presents Design at Work: Western Ontario, an exhibit showcasing the work of professional graphic designers based in the region.
The exhibit is on display in the Departure Lounge of the Region of Waterloo International Airport, 1-4881 Fountain St. N., from now until Nov. 17. A valid boarding pass is required to view the exhibit. An open reception will take place on Oct. 4 from 7:30 – 9 p.m.; registration is required.
Design at Work is an annual, juried competition that honours exemplary design projects created in the last two years. The selected projects demonstrate how graphic design can create value for business. Design at Work: Western Ontario is a special local edition, featuring the work of designers residing within a 50-kilometre radius of the Airport, and as far west as London.
“By hosting this exhibit, the Airport once again provides a perfect gateway into the community. RGD is proud to partner with the Airport on a groundbreaking initiative that showcases our talented designers and recognizes the strategic advantage they have provided to valued businesses and organizations in our region,” notes Philip Mondor R.G.D., RGD Vice President.
“In this exhibit you will see many great examples of the power of design and the marvelous results that can be achieved when a designer and client work together…professional designers, and more specifically, Registered Graphic Designers, can help any client produce memorable, stunning and timeless communications,” says Roger Martin, Dean, Rotman School of Management.
The exhibit features work created by R.G.D. designers from creative studios such as Hagon Design, Mondor Design Associates and Honey Design and from in-house design departments at Western University and YMCA of Kitchener-Waterloo. Projects on display range from an annual report developed for the Waterloo-based Ontario Teachers Insurance Plan to the rebranding of Kitchener construction company Eckologic Builders.
Design at Work: Western Ontario is sponsored by AFIX.
The Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD) is the professional body for graphic designers in Ontario.
