John deWolf RGD (Form:Media) in consortium with Ekistics Planning & Design created a branded environment for the Delmore “Buddy” Daye Learning Institute.
Ekistics and Form:Media designed a new home for this not-for-profit organization that fosters educational experiences and opportunities for Nova Scotian learners of African ancestry. The core idea for the project—from architecture to signage—was based on adinkra printing blocks, made from carved calabash or woodcuts and inked for printing.
Along with the new prominence given to each solution and recipe on the front panel, an icon panel identifies key product attributes such as the freeze-dried, premium protein and grain-free recipe. Printed on matte silver foil substrate with a unique clear window on the outside seam of the pouch pak, the line continues the GO! Packaging system while carving out a unique format for Meal Mixers.
The Greenmelon team (including Robert Smith RGD & Alisha Giroux RGD) was approached to bring Diefenbunker’s brand into the 21st century, while staying true to its roots.
Greenmelon delved deep into the history of the facility, and chose a direction that properly honoured its past, all while reflecting the unique nature of the bunker.
