Submission deadline for Conference: June 14, 2019
RGD DesignThinkers 2019 in Toronto is inviting Design Educators to speak at two educator sessions during this year's DesignThinkers Conference in Toronto (Oct 24-25).
Each presentation will be 10 minutes (with an additional 5 minutes for questions). All selected presenters will receive free registration to the entire DesignThinkers Conference.
Design has tremendous power to engage with global, social, economic, cultural and environmental challenges. It is useful for design educators to reflect on where design has been and to think about where it will go in order to understand how design pedagogy can prepare students to be agents of and for change.
The call for abstracts is open and can include curriculum development, design research, critical pedagogy, strategies, and methodologies. What considerations and issues must educators address in order to best prepare the next generation of designers?
By examining the evolving contexts and practices of design around the world, we seek areas of opportunity in which design curricula and the industry can evolve.
All abstracts submitted for consideration in DesignThinkers will also be considered for publication in a new academic, peer-reviewed RGD International Journal of Graphic Design Pedagogy and Practice.
