AccessAbility 2: A Practical Handbook on Accessible Graphic Design
21/05/19

RGD is pleased to present AccessAbility 2: A Practical Handbook on Accessible Graphic Design, the Revised + Supersized Second Edition and the Essentials Edition.

More than 1.85 million people in Ontario and 4.4 million people in Canada have a disability. This number is on the rise as our population ages. Accessibility is no longer an option — it’s a necessity. RGD is helping to lead the way to a more accessible province for everyone through a partnership with the Government of Ontario.

"Accessible graphic design and accessible technology supports persons with disabilities to actively participate in their communities," explains Alfred Spencer, Director at the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility. "The new RGD AccessAbility Handbook 2 will help graphic designers achieve greater accessibility through their work."

The AccessAbility 2 Handbook comes in two versions - the Revised + Supersized (Full) and the Essentials. The difference between these two versions is ~11,500 words. Most “How-to” information was removed from the Essential edition, as this information changes over time, and is less important than underlying principles.
