Dr. Bonne Zabolotney receives the RGD 2021 Design Educator Award for Western Canada

The RGD recognizes design faculty who have made outstanding contributions to student development and pedagogical research.
We are thrilled to announce that the RGD 2021 Design Educator Award of Excellence for Western Canada is presented to Dr. Bonne Zabolotney.
"Over the past year, our design educators have had to face and overcome many things for the sake of the education they deliver and the students they mentor. I am astounded by their level of strength, endurance and optimism as they navigated the treacherous waters of teaching during the pandemic. This year's Design Educator Award winner for West Canada has proven excellence in areas of Pedagogy, Curriculum, Research, Innovation in Program Development and Contributions to the Discipline. I want to congratulate Bonne Zabolotney and all of our Honourable Mentions and thank all Canadian design educators for their efforts and contributions to our industry, especially over this past year," offers Faron Dawe RGD, the Chair of RGD's Education Committee
As a tenured faculty member, Bonne teaches courses in the Communication Design program, the Master of Design program and in the Critical and Cultural Studies department at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, BC.
Honourable Mention was also bestowed on:
- Karin Jager, Associate Professor, Graphic and Digital Design at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford, BC
- Ben Kunz, Acting Chair & Professor in the Information Design Program at Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB
- Constanza Pacher, Associate Professor in the Bachelor of Design at MacEwan University in Edmonton, AB
- Ashlea Spitz RGD, Digital Graphic Design Instructor at Vancouver Community College in Vancouver, BC
