Sandstorm Gold Royalties is seeking a motivated and well-rounded creative candidate for the role of Graphic Designer in the company’s downtown Vancouver office. As part of the Marketing and Investor Relations team, the Graphic Designer will be a key contributor to the creative services offered to Sandstorm and its partner companies. The ideal candidate will have a background and education in graphic design demonstrating a portfolio of creative concepts used in successful marketing initiatives.

About the Role
As the world’s fourth-largest precious metals royalty company, Sandstorm has a growing portfolio of partner companies with which it provides marketing and creative services. Sandstorm’s Marketing Services provides a unique opportunity for a Graphic Designer that combines elements of a traditional in-house designer role with the variety of a small boutique agency. The role is best suited to those who have a passion for design and the drive to explore a breadth of media in the creative space. In collaboration with the Creative Director and other creative team members, the Graphic Designer will have the opportunity to:
  • Design and explore full brand directions and promotional campaigns for a portfolio of companies in the mining and royalty space.
  • Create and produce design elements used across multi-platform marketing initiatives including print, websites, digital marketing, and motion graphic videos.
  • Contribute meaningful and innovative creative ideas for marketing campaigns and communication pieces.
  • Liaison with clients and key stakeholders to assess design needs and identify creative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain brand consistency for Sandstorm’s portfolio of companies.
  • Prepare production-ready files for various media including conference materials, digital marketing ads, print media, and PowerPoint presentations.

Qualifications & Core Competencies
  • Post-secondary education in graphic design or related discipline
  • 4+ years experience working as a graphic designer, preferably in a creative agency or in-house capacity
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with an emphasis on Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and After Effects
  • Proficiency in MacOS and Office 365 with working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint templates
  • Proven ability to multi-task and self-manage project timelines and competing priorities
  • Self-starter who works well as a team player and can work independently
  • Solid communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Preference is given to candidates with experience in web design and/or video motion graphics

About Sandstorm Gold Royalties
Sandstorm’s Vancouver office is located in the downtown core with approximately 20 employees. As a gold royalty company, Sandstorm provides financing to mining companies through stream and royalty agreements. In exchange for an upfront payment to companies in need of capital, Sandstorm receives the right to purchase a percentage of gold produced from the mine (in the case of a stream) or a portion of the revenue generated from the mine (in the case of a royalty). Sandstorm’s growing portfolio of assets currently consists of over 250 streams and royalties on mining projects around the globe.
