Membership Committee Initiatives
  • Attracting over 1,500 participants annually and a  line-up of 25-30 visionary speakers, DesignThinkers is Canada’s largest, most important graphic design event. It’s an occasion to listen, learn and interact with peers from across the country.

    How to get involved:

  • The Business of Graphic Design: The RGD Professional Handbook is the first and only comprehensive Canadian guide to maintaining a graphic design business.

The RGD Handbook is used as a text in many graphic design programs across Canada, and over 15,000 copies of the first two editions have been distributed across the country and around the world. It is also a required text for the RGD qualification exam.

The new edition of the Handbook includes chapters on building a sustainable design practice, understanding intellectual property, staffing, administering a design consultancy and marketing design services, in addition to sample forms and agreements. The book also includes practical advice from members of the Association from their experience as professionals in the Canadian creative industry as well as details on becoming a Registered Graphic Designer and RGD's Rules of Professional Conduct.

  • Every other week, RGD invites industry experts from across North America and beyond to share their insight and experience with our members. We host speakers from diverse backgrounds covering a wide range of topics with content compiled to benefit designers from all disciplines and all levels of the industry.
