Company description
I'm a registered graphic designer with 17+ yrs industry experience.

I originally trained as an engineer but moved into design in 2004. In 2016 our family started an organic vegetable farm, and this gave me the opportunity to meet the many fantastic artisanal food producers in the area.

In the case of Cafezia coffee, owner Jenna experienced great difficulty explaining why her coffee was unique. In a saturated market like speciality coffee, this is no small problem. We created branding and packaging that clearly positioned her coffee as a great alternative. The result a year later was a 40% increase in sales, in both retail and online.

With Pepper North Artisan Foods, rebranding and repackaging led to onboarding two highly desireable retailers who had denied them a listing several times because their old packaging was too niche for their customers.

I got into this space because food is such an integral part of our lives, and we are bombarded with food choices everyday.

I want to help consumers feel good about the choices they make for themselves, and to feel a deeper connection to a brand.

Using colour and typography is a blend of science and art, and I use them to send the right message to the right consumer, every time.

My solutions don't only work in the physical world: I fuse the essentials of traditional design with the latest digital trends to create a unique recipe for cross-platform results.
Why am I an RGD?
I greatly appreciate the people I've met through this organization, and that we constantly strive to improve ourselves as a group.
What is my most memorable RGD moment?
Going to DesignThinkers 2019
Why am I a designer?
Because I think about colour and fonts all day, to the point that I think I am driving my family and friends crazy. I've even earned the moniker #typographynerdalert by a well-meaning friend :)
Why should you hire me?
Because you get the best of both worlds: a dedication to pushing the limits of creative boundaries, but disciplined enough to stay with budget and timelines. Honest, frank communication and lots of great ideas.
Where do I see myself in 5 years?
I am integrating 3 separate but related aspects of design into one roof: branding and packaging design; prop styling; and environmental design for food spaces
