Canopy Planet is a non-profit that works with the forest industry’s biggest customers and suppliers to develop business solutions that protect endangered forests. This project is in support of their #Pack4Good campaign, building awareness around single-use packaging and the false dichotomy between paper or plastic. We wanted to show how all these seemingly disconnected processes and single-use products – from plastic waterbottles and straws to paper bags and cardboard boxes – are connected, creating a cascading domino effect that was negatively impacting our planet. This Rube Goldberg machine provides a shareable 60-second story that visualizes this chain reaction.

Why am I a designer?
I love creating things that bring some delight and beauty to my fellow humans. After all, our audiences are both intelligent and have a finite amount of hours to spend on this earth, so if we’re going to take up their visual space and precious time, we should at least have the decency and respect to do it in an amusing, visually appealing and worthwhile manner!

My design philosophy is simple: make things (more) wonderful.

I’m also drawn to the power of small ideas: a small idea executed well becomes a big idea.
Why should you hire me?
I have worked on a surprising array of off-the-wall projects, from designing/creating a Rube Goldberg machine, to illustrating an animated GIF series on the “ABCs of Crime”, to creating and designing the Top 40 Dogs of Edmonton. If you have a unique and strange project come across your desk, I’m your gal!
Where do I see myself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself (hopefully!) working on a dizzying variety of new, funny, strange and delightful design problems and projects.
